, and a pretty decent running watch with a great battery.
It’s got a lot going for it. It has a 1.6-inch touchscreen, which is bigger than many watches and can be used to make video calls and track running times. It also has a 1.5mm GPS antenna array on the wrist, so it’s always near you in the field. It can also track runs within a range of 50 meters.
You should expect to get around 10 hours out of it on GPS mode, which is pretty reasonable. There’s a battery indicator to let you know when the battery is low, and it’s waterproof, so you don’t have to worry about water damage. You also get a 5-foot Bluetooth USB cable and a 4.3mm headphone jack, which is a little bit better than the other watches on our list.
The only thing is, the display is pretty small. It’s only 2.8 inches, so you’ll have to look around a bit to find it.
The downside, however, is that it’s waterproof, which means you don’t really need the waterproofing feature on this watch, but you still want it on for the waterproofing.
5. Polar M800
Another great running watch
The Polar M800 (M800) is the best running watch with a battery life that is still really good. It’s very comfortable with a soft silicone wrap on the wrist and a matte black bezel. The phone is powered by a 1.2-inch Exynos 835 octa processor, which is the same dual-core processor found in most other smartphones. It also has a 3.35mm headphone jack, a fingerprint scanner, and it comes with a 3.8mm audio jack.
The main downside with the Polar M800 is that it’s waterproof and has a 10mm headphone jack and 3.5mm audio jack. It does however, have no waterproofing feature, but that’s pretty minor. You’re also getting a battery indicator on the watch, which tells you when it’s running low, and there’s a 3.7mm headphone jack on the strap.
The only thing that could be improved is the display. It’s a 5.5-inch 1920×1080 OLED display, which is smaller than the rest of the watches on our list, but it’s still bright enough to watch a movie on the run or even a podcast.
For basic training, however, you can’t run this watch without a phone, which is an annoyance, but most people won’t need the display anyway.
6. Garmin Forerunner 235
A great running GPS watch
Garmin released the Forerunner 235 a few years ago and was one of the first to do it well. It has a battery that lasts up to 18 hours, a touchscreen that’s larger than any other watch on our list and some nice features like a heart rate monitor and sleep tracker.
If you’re just after a GPS watch, the Forerunner 235 is the one to get. It has a 1.9-inch display, a 1.2mm GPS antenna, and a 1.6mm headphone jack. The whole package is pretty impressive for a watch that’s only around $50.
The Forerunner 235 is powered by a 1.2GHz Snapdragon 435 chipset and 2GB of RAM, which is more than enough for most things you’ll do on the
