in 2018.
The sound is punchy and clear – but, when you crunch the bass, the sound is pretty dry and muddy. I do appreciate the “enhanced” bass response, but it’s no great for me.
The sound is quite crisp, but it doesn’t deliver much bass at all. The only thing that is better is the clarity. The highs are warm and the mids sound bright and crisp. The soundstage is more spacious, but nothing spectacular. Overall, the sound is very, very good.

4. Sony WF-1000X – Best Budget Noise Cancelling Headphones
The Sony WF-1000X are the cheapest noise cancelling Bluetooth headphones in my opinion.
They are a great value, but they aren’t the best I’ve heard.
The Sony WF-1000X are very similar to the Sony WF-1000X. The only real difference is the Sony’s built-in ANC and noise cancelling feature, which is a nice touch.
The WF-1000X have a 1.6” Diameter RMS, which is slightly bigger than the WF-1000X’s 1.4”.
The WF-1000X don’t have a passive noise cancelling feature, but that only matters for the ANC feature. They don’t have much in the way of active noise cancelling, but still, they are a good pair of headphones for the price.

5. Jaybird X7A – Best for Dynamic Bass
The Jaybird X7A are one of the best headphones for the bass.
The X7A give you a dynamic bass response. The X7A are one of the best I’ve heard for the price.
The X7A have an impedance of 70 ohm, which is a bit higher than the Sony WF-1000X but not a huge difference.
The X7A are also quite balanced. The lower end is warm and the higher end is sharp and punchy. They also have a great listening position.

7. Beyerdynamic DT-880 – Best Budget Noise Cancelling Headphones
The Beyerdynamic DT-880 are a great pair of cheap headphones for the price.
The DT-880 is another budget pair of cheap Bluetooth headphones that provide a nice balance of sound.
The DT-880 have a 1.6” Diameter RMS, which is slightly smaller than the CT-880. The headphones can be used to-go, but they don’t have any active noise cancelling feature, and they don’t come with a cable.
The headphones come with a cable, which should be more than enough to put in most backpack.
